Tattoos

Well... in this time I'm going to talk about the tattoos. The history of tattoos dates back to the Stone Age. In the year 1991was found a Neolithic man; he had tattoos on his back and knees.
The most popular culture, about the tattoos, was Polynesian culture. The Polynesian men tattooed until completely cover skin and their tattoos are considered the most artistic tattoo in the old world. In fact, the word "tattoo" comes from Polynesian word "Ta" which means "hit" or, maybe, comes from Polynesian expression "Tau- Tau" used to speak about the two bones collision.
In the beginning, tattoos were used to identify subjects in a group, his achievements and his social status. Today, in the modern society, this situation has not changed. For example, in the nineteenth and twentieth century, tattoos were associated with criminals or convicts. The tattoo was used, in those centuries, as symbol of specific condition and status in the society. It's clear that the connotation of the tattoo's status has changed over time. Thus, in the beginning, tattoos represented high status in the old society, but in twentieth century tattoo was associated with a low social status and marginal population.

Currently, in many cases, tattoo is a requirement for membership in specific social group. But also represent personality characteristics of inked people. Thus, the inked people use tattoos which represent likes, significant events, hopes or cover some skin defect. For example, to the most tattooed woman in the world, the tattoos began as a bid to cover up her nasty skin condition.
